The future of Full Glory Waifus
Share
Since the release of Emerald Bliss, Full Glory Waifus has depicted the likenesses of a few characters we did not have permission to use. This is common practice in the Waifu card industry, with popular anime vixens being featured prominently in most products. The key difference here between 'Full Glory Waifus', and others such as 'Goddess Story' however, is that our cards are printed in the USA.
China is sort of like the Wild West of Copyright infringement. They can create whatever they want using whatever characters they want, and most likely not encounter any issues. American legal teams can't do much against companies protected by a communist government. Things are very different here in the United States.
Our publisher has been pressuring us for a while now to clean up the IP infringement from Full Glory Waifus. We wanted to continue using these iconic characters, to help us remain competitive and relevant in an industry were the other brands use those same characters, however we can no longer do so. Our publisher is putting their foot down, stating that they will not continue printing our product unless we remove all licensed characters from it.
I am confident however, that 'Full Glory Waifus' will still do well with an all original cast of characters. Base set is extremely popular and features only original characters. Catanna from base set is extremely popular. Tenko, an original character from Waifu-Verse gets a lot of attention from customers (though she does have Princess Peach's haircut and earrings 🤫). So I see no reason why the brand and product would struggle going forward.
We will be receiving one final shipment of 'Emerald Bliss' and 'Enter the Waifu-Verse' before they will be heavily modified. All of our original characters from these two sets, Cosmika, Tenko, Emma and Lavina will be sticking around, and so will the random alternate art style characters from Waifu-Verse, however many cards will need to be removed and replaced.
'Emerald Bliss' is getting loaded up with medieval fantasy babes and monsters, including a certain pink-haired fairy I think you all are going to love. Waifu-Verse is going to need a lot more work as it's a larger set that was designed to offer a wide variety of Waifus. Hopefully this massive new workload will not delay the release of the 4th set in April. Subscribe to our emails for updates.
